The Ultra Europe Festival takes up the entire Croatian coastal city of Split. The main events take place on the main stage in Mladeži Park. There are also smaller events that take place on the beaches and on boats around Split.
Ultra Europe is a huge Croatian electronic dance music festival and the European edition of the global event brand, held every summer in the Croatian city of Split.
The main festival takes place in Mladeži Park in Split, accompanied by impressive fireworks, smoke machines and more. Previous editions of Ultra Europe featured Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Carl Cox, DJ Snake, The Chainsmokers and more.
Outside the park, the makers of Ultra Europe put together a wealth of parties under the name Destination Ultra. These include Ultra Beach on the island of Hvar, a regatta beach party on Brač and a number of Resistance parties that are held in the beach clubs and fortresses.
The interplay of the various elements makes Ultra Europe one of the most important weeks on the festival calendar for all fans of electronic dance music.
Split is a city in Central Dalmatia, Croatia. The city was originally built around the Roman emperor Diocletian palace, where the locals sought refuge centuries ago. Despite initial appearances, however, the city is not a small tourist town, and extends over a large area well beyond the ancient core. With over 300,000 people in the wider bay area, it's the economic hub of the eastern Adriatic shoreline (the unofficial "capital" of Dalmatia). Wandering the historic centre of Split you can still clearly see the Roman walls, squares, and temples.
Split is much, much larger than other coastal towns (Rovinj, Pula, Zadar, Sibenik) and has modernized as the city has grown.
Split Airport is, after Zagreb Airport, the most important in Croatia. A brand new terminal, with significantly increased capacity, was inaugurated in 2019. Scheduled services fly to major European cities, with summer charter flights from more. The airport is about 25 km west from Split, near the city of Kaštela. It has free WiFi internet. Airport buses run from the terminal to the city and stop at the eastern end of 'Riva'.
Bus number 37 runs about every 30 min (from the outdoor public bus stop across the main road from the terminal.
