Baden-Württemberg runs from the Black Forest in the west to Lake Constance in the south. It is the state of thermal baths, monasteries and the car industry, and the distances between them are short. The Black Forest starts behind Freiburg, the warmest city in Germany. Deeper in are Titisee-Neustadt on its lake and Baiersbronn, a walking village better known for its restaurants. Baden-Baden on the northern edge has lived off its hot springs since the Romans. On Lake Constance, Konstanz is the largest town, right on the Swiss border. Ulm has the tallest church steeple in the world, and Tübingen an old town on the Neckar barely bigger than its university. Heidelberg, with its ruined castle above the river, is the most photographed place in the state and priced accordingly; Mannheim and Karlsruhe are close by on the railway and cost less. Stuttgart holds the Mercedes-Benz and Porsche museums.

We list 781 hotels across 350 towns in Baden-Württemberg. A room costs around 100 EUR a night here, and the cheapest beds start at 30 EUR. The cheapest we found is Black Forest Hostel.
